Tess Tyler is the daughter of the famous T.J. Tyler, and one day wishes to be a singer, like her mother.

Tess is a diva and gets her way all the time, even if she has to hurt people to do so. She is pretty, rich, spoilt and she knows it as well. She isn't afraid to show off because everyone looks up to her at Camp. When Shane Gray comes to camp, she puts all her efforts into making him notice her, even going so far as dissing her own friends in front of crowds. She is an attention seeker because her mother is too busy with her carrer to notice her.

When we first see Tess, she walks out of a limo, bling and all with a smug smile on her face because she knows everyone is watching her in awe. As the movie continues, we see she is quickly jealous of Mitchie as she becomes more and mroe popular by the day and plans to take revenge, especially when she sees her best friend Caitlyn Gellar whom she dislikes and when she sees Mitchie bond with Shane Gray. Tess finds out Mitchie's secret that she is just an average girl from a struggling family and not a rich daughter of Hot Tunes TV China's president. She spills it out in front of a whole crowd of campers, leaving Mitchie humilated and upset. She continues to bug Mitchie and Caitlyn and when they stand up to her, she frames them for stealing her charm bracelet and gets them band from Final Jam. However, things don't end out too well for Tess. Her 'friends' Ella and Peggy leave her flanks when she shouts at them for not getting it right when they were and when she performs, her mother gets distracted with a phone call leaving her distraught on stage. Tess's relationship with her mother is actually very complicated. You can see that her whole purpose in life is to impress her mom and that her song in the final jam is all about their relationship and how she wants her and her mom to spend more time with eachother. In the end she apologizes to everyone and becomes friends with them all again.
