"You're going to Camp Rock!"
―Connie to Mitchie in Camp Rock

Connie Torres is Mitchie's mother and also runs a family catering service called "Connie's Catering".

She is also portrayed by Maria Canals Barrera.

Personality[]

Connie is loving, caring, maybe even a little over protective of Mitchie. She remains cheerful in spite of her husband not being around both her and her daughter. Considerable cooking skills allowed her to be noticed and hired by Brown Cesario, a rugged, good looking proprietor of Camp Rock. She is understanding and does not hold Mitchies lying in the first movie against her for a long time. In the second movie, with Mitchie's father no longer being in picture (both literally and metaphorically), she allows herself to succumb to passion and loving, the best qualities of Brown Cesario.

Camp Rock[]

In the beginning of the film, Connie tells Mitchie that it's the last day of school in the morning. Later on, Mitchie asks her mother to turn up the volume to hear the television. Then, Hot Tunes revealed that Nate and Jason was fed up with Shane and cancelled their summer tour. Afterwards, Mitchie tells her about Camp Rock and that she wants to go there. However, the family can not afford the tuition. She is disappointed by this news. While at school, Mitchie talks to her best friend about it but when she gets back home, Connie decides to tell her that she's allowed to attend Camp Rock since Steve couldn't hold it in anymore. In order for Mitchie to be able to go to Camp Rock, Connie had to get the job as camp cook. But the catch was Mitchie had to help her out some times as well. At first, Mitchie didn't mind at all, but when she saw Tess' reaction to poor people, she lied because she was embarrassed that her mother was the cook at camp. When Connie found out what she did, she talked to Mitchie, and told her she should've been herself all along and she wouldn't have been in this mess. Her and her husband Steve watch Mitchie perform at Final Jam and are very proud of their daughter for overcoming her stage-fright and gaining confidence in herself.
